What can we in the west learn
from gazing east, sun rising
into a new day complete
and entire unto itself?
It’s simple, really. To greet
with open eyes and heart
what comes as gifts
of the moments we receive,
gifts passing through us who
are pilgrims here, hands outstretched
to take what we need and to give
what we can of who we are.
