A new review of WRITING AFTER RETIREMENT has just appeared, written by Diane Stanton for Story Circle Book Reviews. In it she says:
The most liberating lines were by Sarah W. Bartlett in her essay “It’s Never too Late to Start Blogging.” “Now that we’re retired,” she says, “we no longer need to follow any one else’s schedule or goals. We have the complete freedom to pick and choose… Moreover, we’ve earned the right to say what we think and feel…”
We can say what we feel and think, or better said by one of Alice Walker’s characters (paraphrased) “When I am old I shall wear purple”.
It’s all part of the sense of freedom . . . funny it takes so long, but proud to be here at last [as another famous quotation goes . . . :-)]
